Lance Hunter


Lance Hunter has exhibited his paintings and drawings in galleries in Europe and in many major cities in the United States including New York, Chicago, Seattle, New Orleans, Portland, St. Louis and Philadelphia. In 2014, Hunter won the Best in Show award in Missouri Watercolor International and in the Keystone National Works on Paper Exhibition in Pennsylvania. He has won more than twenty-seven awards in international, national and regional exhibitions during his career. Hunter’s paintings have been published in International Artist, Southwest Art and Watercolor Artist magazines and in American Art Collector magazine several times. A watercolor of his daughter was featured on the title pages of the book Splash 8: Water- color Discoveries published by Northlight Books. Two of his watercolors will be pub- lished in Splash 16: Exploring Textures in 2015. Lance is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society and the Watercolor Honor Society. His watercolor “Omissive” was purchased for the permanent collection of the Springfield Art Museum from a Watercolor USA national exhibition. His work can be found in private collections in Europe and across the United States. In addition to his studio work, Hunter has completed more than twenty large scale murals in five states. His mural work is featured in Mural Art 2: Murals on Huge Public Surfaces Around the World, a hardback book published in English and Greek and dis- tributed internationally. Lance Hunter is an Associate Professor of Art at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma teaching painting, watercolor and figure drawing classes.
